I have always heard you can't prove a negative. Just ask yourself, "Who am I to say there is no God?"

If you are a non-believer, please cite your references. And please, none of that "If there is a God, why does he let evil happen?" It's called free will.

If you are a non-believer

That says it all. You need to 'believe' in order to think there is a god. There is no evidence, just traditions passed on generation by generation. I'm not saying that a God does not exist, but there isn't anything to prove that one exists.

Isn't the burden of proof on the person claiming that something does exist? You can not prove the non-existence of something, only the existence. Where is your proof that God does exist?

As a Philosophy major this topic was debated and beat to death in nearly every class I took. THere are dozens of good arguments both for and against.

The bottom line is that belief is something that is based on faith, not on evidence and proof. You'll be very hard pressed to convince a non-believer that god exists through proofs.

There is no proof, people "spiritually" believe in God or they don't.

That George Carlin bit is excellent however...

I dont see why one would have to believe God exists or doesn't. Its all about self happiness as selfish as this sounds... If your happy with the belief that God created you and everything else and ya da ya da..then so be it. If you want to belive that God doesnt exists, then so be it.

you know the Earth you are living upon is very good proof that God exists, since he is the one that created it. And anyone who thinks the big bang theory or that the Earth just came into existence on a whim is not a very intelligent person.

I can promise you that it is not a coincidence that the Earth is just far enough away from the sun that we dont burn, and just close enough that we do not freeze.

And by the way, when you are speaking about the Creator, capitalize his name. It is "God", not "god" or heaven forbid "gawd"...Show a little respect

Of course there is no God. But even if there was, to believe in one is not logical, and is not supported by any rational thought or even science. Most people believe what their parents believe...whatever the Country or Culture. The bottom line is that most of the smartest and successful people in the world understand that the cause and effect of their success had nothing to do with a higher power. Lots of losers and morons believe in God, and they suffer with a suckass quality of life that is pretty dishonest.

People who don't believe in God are usually quite spiritual, but most people don't understand that part. If you are honest about being a critical thinker then you really can't make the leap to believing in God unless you are lying to yourself. Have fun while you can because when it is over....it is over.

This fella flipped a free Katrina home and told the church to "Take it up with God". Maybe there is Karma, but no God.
